Whatever Happened to Candida?

     Having given up on Candida the Grandmaster had remarried but his old
enemy Nemesis had his own plans for her (art by Chris Weston)





     After restoring her sanity Nemesis and Candida plotted to humilate Tomas
by having her turn on him during their re-marriage.  It worked like a charm,
delighted by Candida's recovery Tomas murdered his wife and planned a state
wedding which ended with Candida and Nemesis fleeing the Temple together
before worldwide media coverage.  Tomas was not amused and vowed the final
showdown with Nemesis was coming.  Which it did seven years later when Pat
Mills finally got around to wrapping up the Nemesis saga.  Sadly, IMHO, after
an excellent build up the whole story fell apart in the final episode.  A
poor sendoff for one of 2000AD's classic series.  Candida was fortunate to
depart the series with this 1992 Winter Special No. 4 story.
